Who we are:
Executive Director and Correspondent Polly Kreisman is a 15-time Emmy award winning television and print journalist.
Polly worked as an on-camera investigative reporter at WPIX and WWOR TV in New York, and as a network producer at ABC’s 20/20, MSNBC and CBS News. She has covered Capitol Hill in Washington for the Group W and Chronicle Broadcasting Co. stations, and worked in local TV newsrooms in Baltimore, Washington, DC, Hartford and Norfolk.
She is the founder and Publisher of theLoop, Westchester County (NY)’s hyperlocal news destination.
Polly was a 2010 Fellow at the Knight Digital Media Center, University of Southern California.
She lives in suburban New York with her family, which includes a set of twins and an significantly oversized poodle.
Mary Alice Williams: One of the most esteemed names in television news, Board Chairperson Mary Alice began her career as a reporter at KSTP TV in the Twin Cities, later moving to New York with WPIX TV and later with NBC flagship WNBC. She rose to prominence as one of the founding anchors at CNN and served as Vice President in charge of its New York Bureau, becoming one of the highest ranking female executives in American television.
She joined NBC News in 1989 and became the first woman to win a national Emmy Award for anchoring an evening newscast. She has written and hosted highly acclaimed specials for PBS, ABC, and Lifetime, and has won numerous awards for her work in television, radio, and interactive media. Mary Alice now teaches Journalism at Purchase College, the State University of New York, which will be supporting many of the efforts of INY.
